Jen and Selvyn are made for each other. What an incredible pair. Their love is so wonderful and unique and fresh and real. Sylvan’s family flew in from Guatemala for the big day and though they hadn’t seen each other in eighteen (yes eighteen) years, the reunion was sweet and deep and filled with love. The entire day rang with the rhythm and groove of translation, from English to Spanish and back again, each moment echoed in another tongue. There were other moments though. The couple lifted their hands thanking God for all He has done, glowing in their first seconds as a new team. Jen rubbed Sylvan’s ear to calm him just as he began to get nervous. These were the greatest moments, and they required no translation at all.
In our contact form on our website we ask prospective clients and soon to be new friends to tell us a little bit about themselves, and while wedding details are fun, we love it when we get message like Jen’s. “I’m friendly, I love languages and other cultures, I want to use my gifts to worship God and serve others; I love music and running… I look forward to serving alongside my future husband in the Latino church where he is a pastor.” Weddings can be fun. They can be a great party. They can be a great way to get the family together. They can be a form of self expression. But in the end, we are not nearly as excited about weddings as we are about the overwhelming joy that is marriage. Jen and Sylvan are all about marriage and in turn, we are all about them.
Oh, and who doesn’t love a little Mariachi music?!
